You Can Fight Addiction’s Personal Demons!
By Kathlene R. Amerine
Your addictions, be it your recreational drug of choice, alcohol, tobacco, gambling, sex, pornography, and even food, can be holding you so tightly right now that you can’t see your self not drowning in the pool of darkness that has a hold of your being and your soul!
You need help! You must first admit that you need help or there will be nothing that can help you!
We humans all have the “freedom of choice”. Whatever got you into the prediction of your personal addiction, you had the “freedom of choice” to say “NO” the very first time you were approached to participate.
But addictions are insidious. Your “freedom of choice” became inundated with invitations, and you were finally broken down and then your “choice” became “I choose to participate”. The ugly creatures were laughing and screaming with joy! They gotcha!
Once you are addicted, your body changes. Your “physical desires” literally take over your “mental awareness and your conscience” and you are now on a road to a destructive life style. Your conscience, the part of the superego in psychoanalysis, now transmits destructive commands and destroys admonitions to your past good conduct, intentions, to do right or be good. You are caught up in the web of addiction.
The addictions/afflictions that control you fall into a wide range of categories. You must choose your activities, and do not be afraid to tell someone “no, I can’t get involved with this activity right now.”
Because over-activity ‘drains the brain’ of neurotransmitters. Stress depletes neurotransmitters in the brain. Lack of sleep, everyday mental and emotional battles or poor health, will deplete “feel good” transmitters.
The absence of the balance of neurotransmitters can propel an individual into unhealthy addictions. Drug abuse, eating disorders, alcohol. gambling, promniscuity etc. The individual chooses these activities to try to shore up their flagging countenance, thinking that the drug will give them the happiness they so long to achieve.
The brain has ten billion neurons (brain cells) that work together for a healthy body. Depleted supplies of “feel good” transmitters means it will be impossible for you to feel happy, motivated or on track. You will feel just the opposite: A decrease in energy and interest, feelings of worthlessness and a pervasive sense of helplessness to control the course of your life.
Certain transmitters, when depleted, may cause you to be easily agitated or angered, experiencing depression and mild to severe anxiety and have sleep problems. You may feel more psychological and physical spent. These can all be symptoms of neurotransmitter insufficiency.
You need to give your body nutrients to bring you back to the healthy state you once celebrated! You need amino acid therapy to restore the balance of the neutotransmitters. You need vital minerals and vitamins to bring you back to health.
In today’s living, the foods we eat do not give us all the nutrition we must have!
We must find it in alternate sources. Please research vitamin sources. Get Healthy!
